About Me
My name is Jaimie, and I am a recovering Tomboy.
Somewhere along my journey through life, I learned that being feminine meant being weak. Maybe it was growing up in a neighborhood full of boys, or just the era—my fellow Gen X’ers know toughness was a life requirement in the 80s. Whatever the cause, this mindset stuck and shaped me in a foundational way.
In my young adulthood, I found myself with something to prove. “Anything a man could do, I could do better!” I wasn’t afraid to get dirty, and I loved to take on any task that was traditionally a “Man’s Job” just to prove that I could do it. From working at an oil change shop to street racing with the guys, I really embodied this tomboy stance through most of my adult life.
It took ovarian tumors and a complete hysterectomy to finally set me on the path of finding out what being Feminine really meant. Losing my womb made me realize I had spent my entire life proving my worth through masculine strength. The truth was, I hadn’t been honest about who I really was or what I truly wanted. It was a terrifying place to start, but I had to redefine womanhood on my own terms.
Now, I’d love to share the part of my story that shaped me, and the changes I’ve made. This blog is where I dive into reclaiming my femininity—from the inner work of embracing emotional vulnerability and setting boundaries, to the outer work of discovering my personal style, experimenting with beauty, and embracing the joy of simply being soft.
Femininity is not weak. It is bold and passionate, creative and nurturing.
If you’re a woman who has ever felt pressure to be ‘one of the guys,’ or believed that your ambition and strength somehow negate your softness, then this blog is for you. My hope is to create a space where we can all explore the powerful, multifaceted meaning of being a woman today—without shame or apology.
I’m still very much on this path, and I’d love for you to walk it with me. Pull up a chair, read my latest post, and tell me: What does ‘feminine’ mean to you?
